How much ceiling height do I need for a two-post car lift?
Most overhead two-post lifts need about 12 ft of clear ceiling to the lowest obstruction. With 10 to 11 ft, a floorplate two-post, four-post, or mid rise lift is usually the workable option.
How thick does my concrete need to be for a car lift?
A typical 10,000 lb two-post lift needs at least 4 in. of 3,000 PSI concrete cured 28 days or more, with no cracks or joints inside the anchor pattern. Higher-capacity lifts often call for 6 in. or a new pad. We check the slab before quoting.
How often do vehicle lifts need to be inspected?
ANSI/ALI standards call for inspection by a qualified lift inspector once a year, and most insurers expect the documentation. We perform annual inspections and certifications across TN, KY, GA, and AL.
How do I size a shop air compressor?
Size by CFM, not horsepower. Add up the CFM your tools draw at peak, add headroom for growth, then pick the compressor and tank that support that duty cycle. Dryers and filtration matter as much as the pump.
Why use aluminum air piping instead of black iron?
Aluminum piping such as Unipipe will not rust or scale, so you are not pushing corrosion into tools and paint work. It is also faster to modify when you add a bay, and it is the only aluminum system rated for high-PSI applications.

Can you move a lift to a new shop location?
Yes. We dismantle, transport, reinstall, and re-certify lifts, compressors, and tire equipment, including full shop relocations and air piping re-runs.
Do you install lifts in home garages?
Often yes, if the slab and ceiling meet spec. Residential slabs are frequently thinner than 4 in., so that is the first thing to verify. Mid rise and four-post lifts are common alternatives.
